Flight's been delayed twenty minutes. With the time change, I'll be back in Oklahoma City sometime after midnight. But it really is ok. I worked Saturday, Sunday, and half of today. However, I took half the day off today to go to opening day of major league baseball between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies. Great game. Lots of homers. Good beer. The bestest in the westest. I've been on the road most of the last week and will continue to be this week. After I spend the day at home tomorrow, I'm off again to Indiana for three days. But it really is ok. I get to see Bruce Springsteen in Tulsa tomorrow night and some "Born to Run" overkill should re-charge my Latino batteries. So yeah, a few travel musings I've jotted down:
1. People who double park in an airport parking garage should fucking die. Double parkers who drive trucks should triple die.
2. Apparently, my aftershave bottle is four ounces too large and thus represents a national security risk.
3. It is perfectly ok to eat Schlotzky's at 8 AM if you're at an airport. The dining rules dictated by time no longer apply at that point.
4. Has anyone ever noticed that the ice in the drinks on planes is way harder than normal, non-plane ice?
5. I appreciate people for reasons on a plane that I'd never appreciate them for under normal circumstances. I appreciate people for basic hygiene and their desire to completely ignore me all the time. But I REALLY appreciate it on the plane.
6. Does everyone really have to read Twilight? Really? TWILIGHT?
7. There's never enough time for this. Boarding begins now. Gotta go. Love you real hard.
